Sausage Rolls
Homemade sausage rolls are quick and easy to make. Above all, they are so tasty that you won’t want to stop at one. I added peas to this recipe but you may like to add other ingredients such as cheese or carrot.
500g sausage meat
500g lean minced meat
1 onion diced finely
packet of marjoram
handful of basil, chopped
handful of peas (optional)
egg lightly (whisked for basting pastry)
1 packet of puff pastry.
1. In saucepan, soften onion in a generous dollop of butter. Allow to cool.
2. Mix sausage meat with minced meat, onion and herbs.
3. Cut pastry sheets in half. Baste pastry with whisked egg. Place mixture on pastry and roll up. Baste again with egg.
Note: it is a good idea to divide sausage mix into small even sized balls to ensure you have enough mixture for each roll.
4. Place into oven at 180 for approx 30mins, or until lightly brown.
Easy peasy Japanesey!
