Sausage Rolls

Homemade sausage rolls are quick and easy to make. Above all, they are so tasty that you won’t want to stop at one. I added peas to this recipe but you may like to add other ingredients such as cheese or carrot.

500g sausage meat
500g lean minced meat
1 onion diced finely
packet of marjoram
handful of basil, chopped
handful of peas (optional)
egg lightly (whisked for basting pastry)
1 packet of puff pastry.

1. In saucepan, soften onion in a generous dollop of butter. Allow to cool.

2. Mix sausage meat with minced meat, onion and herbs.

3. Cut pastry sheets in half. Baste pastry with whisked egg. Place mixture on pastry and roll up. Baste again with egg.
Note: it is a good idea to divide sausage mix into small even sized balls to ensure you have enough mixture for each roll.

4. Place into oven at 180 for approx 30mins, or until lightly brown.

Easy peasy Japanesey!

Digital dissertations: emerging forms of visual arts research

Anne Bamford from Wimbledon School of Art, London discusses the future direction of research The Art of Research: Digital theses in the arts. Exploring notions of quality, merit (value) and form, these ideas reverberate within the field of arts assessment. Could these notions become the fundamental criteria used to make judgments about performance within, not only in the digital arts, but more traditional forms as well?

What criteria do we use to assess the vast artistic forms that encompass the visual arts?
Will practical work be judged more in terms of skill and competence or conceptual communication of ideas?

Approaches to Research (EDUC8631)

I have completed the compressed summer 7-11 January and my overall impression is very good. Whilst aspects of the study appear (to the uninitiated) challenging, overall Masters looks exciting and achievable. All faculty staff have been interested and supportive of students and their interests. Lecturers have publicly praised Kent (enthusiastically interested) for his writing assignments. These works, well written, displayed a willingness to apply concepts to unorthodox applications of research. While these strategies encourage participation on all kinds of levels, such acts implicitly deliver messages of support and values within the school. Many lecturers made themselves available and were highly approachable. Thanks Sandy for introducing me to the course, Bill for welcoming me to the class and Stephen for your humour and everyday application of concepts. You have all contributed to opening our thinking. Thanks for being a part of the journey.

The challenge for me now is too keep up-to-date and on top of my own learning. This is imperative if I wish to succeed and manage my own stress.

Master of Education in Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation - Thesis and Coursework

As of today, I have officially enrolled in Masters of Education in Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation - Thesis and Coursework at the University of Western Australia.

I plan to utilise ‘perpetual state’ for the collection, organisation and evaluation of information, as necessary for my own study purposes. Perpetual state, will become an evolving space for education and study purposes. In sorts, a professional development and research blog (PDR Blog).
